Sarah Delaney Death, Obituary GoFundMe- On Wednesday, we said our final goodbye to my beloved Sarah Delaney, who passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of her passing and reflect on the profound impact she had on all who knew her.

Earlier this year, cancer made an unwelcome return in Sarah’s life. With the support of a remarkable team at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chicago, we embarked on a new treatment journey. Despite enduring the challenging side effects of chemotherapy, Sarah faced each day with remarkable bravery and resilience. Her unwavering strength, which she often described as being a “brave little soldier,” was nothing short of inspirational.

However, over the past few weeks, we faced an unexpected and heartbreaking turn of events. Sarah’s condition worsened, and we were confronted with the devastating news that the cancer had spread beyond what we had hoped to manage. Following extensive testing, it was determined that the focus would shift to palliative care to ensure Sarah’s comfort in her final days. Surrounded by the love of her family, Sarah passed away early Wednesday evening.

My heart is shattered by this loss. Yet, amidst the pain, I find solace in the belief that Sarah is now in a place of peace and joy. She is in Paradise, reunited with loved ones who had passed before her, including cherished pets. There is no more fear, no more pain, only the warmth of love and eternal comfort.

I am profoundly grateful for the outpouring of support, condolences, and prayers from friends, family, and the community. Your kindness and strength have been a beacon of hope during this challenging time. A Funeral Mass will be held in Sarah’s honor at our home parish, Saint Mary of the Lake, in Chicago next Friday. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., with the service following at noon.

Sarah will be laid to rest in Indianapolis at a later date, fulfilling her wish to return to her home state. Further details about the burial will be shared once they are confirmed. Sarah, my love, you were my partner for 12 extraordinary years. Together, we shared adventures across the globe, enjoyed countless concerts and music festivals, and cherished countless quiet nights at home.

You understood me in a way that no one else ever could, and I am forever grateful for the depth of our bond. While my heart aches with the thought of navigating life without you, I find comfort in knowing that you are guiding me from above. Until we are reunited, I will carry your memory with me, drawing strength from the love and joy you brought into my life. Rest easy, my dear Sarah. I look forward to the day when we will be together again.
