Michael Scullion Obituary, Death – The news of Michael (Mickey) Scullion’s passing from Ballynease was a sad event for POP, which learned of his passing today. Mickey was a kind person who was always willing to engage in conversation. If you were fortunate enough to meet him in the company of his late brother-in-law Mickey Brennen, the craic was filled with a plethora of anecdotes and yearnings.

While he was growing up in Ballynease, he went to the local primary school before moving on to St. Mary’s Intermediate School in Clady. When Mickey went out on his coal run, he delivered the coal in any weather condition, and if you ran out of coal, he would be at your door even if it was a Sunday. This is the thing that will be remembered most about Mickey.

During this difficult time, I would like to extend my deepest condolences to his wife Peggy (née Brennan), his brothers Hugh, Paddy, George, Barney, and Danny, his sister Mary (Dougan), his nephews and nieces, and the rest of the Scullion family. One of the things that comes to mind when I think about Mickey is his late parents, Michael and Josephine.
