Mayland was surrounded by his loving wife, Krista, and family during his final days, a testament to the deep connections he cherished throughout his life. Mayland’s commitment to the fire service began in 2006 when he joined the Bolton Volunteer Fire Department as a probationary member.

Over the span of 18 years, he demonstrated unwavering dedication, serving in various capacities with distinction. He held the position of Fire Lieutenant from 2014 to 2022, before being rightfully promoted to the rank of Captain in 2024. His journey was marked by a relentless drive to protect and serve, and his impact on the department will forever be remembered.
