Luke Rufener Obituary, Death – Luke D. Rufener, who was just 35 years old, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at his home in Wadsworth. Luke was born on October 20, 1988, in Wadsworth to David and LeAnn Rufener. His journey through life began here, and he remained connected to his roots, graduating from Rittman High School in 2007. Luke was known for his warm personality and sense of humor. His laughter and kindness were constants in the lives of those who knew him. He had a special way of making people smile and a genuine concern for those who were going through tough times. His family remembers him as someone who always tried to lift others up, even when he himself faced challenges.

Family was incredibly important to Luke. He was a devoted uncle to his nieces and nephews, who cherished their time with him. Luke had a special bond with these young ones, and his affection for them was evident. His love extended beyond his human family to his furry companion, a sweet cat named Floki. Luke found joy in simple pleasures, whether it was spending time in nature, gardening, or fishing. Despite his many strengths and the love surrounding him, Luke struggled with mental health issues and addiction. These battles were a significant part of his life, and while they presented ongoing challenges, Luke also received considerable support and encouragement from those around him. His family deeply appreciates the kindness and love offered to him during these difficult times.

Luke is survived by his parents, David and LeAnn Rufener of Rittman. He leaves behind three siblings: Kristina (Trent) Steffen of Rittman, Patrick (Megan) Rufener of Copley, and Kathryn (Andrew) Steiner of Hancock, Minnesota. Additionally, Luke is remembered fondly by his eight nieces and nephews, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. As we remember Luke, we celebrate the light he brought into the lives of his family and friends. His kindness, sense of humor, and love for those around him will be missed but fondly remembered. May we all carry forward the compassion he showed and the warmth he shared with those he loved.
