An investigation revealed that Kiser was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on 31st street, approaching the I-680 ramp when the motorcycle “failed to make the turn and left the roadway, then laid down and re-entered the roadway.” (Omaha Police, 2017). According to a report, the Omaha man, identified as Chris Kiser, 68, died after time at the hospital.

The pedestrian, later identified as 16-year-old Allison Sanchez, was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center, where she later passed away due to the severity of her injuries. The driver of the vehicle, who was not injured and was not intoxicated, remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The pedestrian was struck and killed by a car in East Austin last Sunday at around midnight on Sunday, July 28 at 5010 Old Manor Road.

As a result, police say the pedestrian died. With 50 fatalities for the year, the incident is being looked into as Austin’s 47th deadly crash of 2024. The inquiry is still in progress. The APD’s Vehicular Homicide squad should be contacted by anyone with more information.
