Alan Patterson Obituary, Death – It is with a heavy heart that we must inform you of the demise of M. Alan Patterson, who resided in Dorchester and was 52 years old. On Thursday, August 8, 2024, Alan died away at the Moncton Hospital. He was surrounded by his devoted family at the time of his passing. He was the son of Austin Patterson, who was from Ontario, and Joan (Paul) Cant, who was from Sackville, New Brunswick. He was born in Charlottetown.

Since the time he graduated, Alan has been working as a truck driver. For the past five years, he has been employed with Giant Tiger, which has allowed him to travel across both Canada and the United States. Both his Great Danes and his black labs were his favorite pets. In his spare time, he enjoyed going for walks with his own dogs or working at the Moncton SPCA or the Los Angeles Animal Shelter. He always looked forward to these activities.

The following people will miss Alan deeply: his beloved wife Lorilee, who lives in Dorchester; his stepson Evan Whidden, who lives in Hinton, Alberta; his step-grandchildren Leah Whidden, who lives in Truro, and Lincoln Whidden, who lives in Hinton, Alberta; his step sister Rebekah Cant, who lives in Sackville; his siblings Larry Patterson, who lives in Amherst; Angie (Dave) Corbin, who lives in Quispamsis, New Brunswick; and Sue Patterson, who lives in Toronto; and a large number of sister-in-laws, extended family members, and friends.

The Jones Funeral Home, located at 70 Bridge Street in Sackville and may be reached at (506) 364-0300, is looking after and directing the arrangements for the funeral. Cremation has been carried out in accordance with Alan’s specific desires, and a Celebration of Life will be conducted at his residence at a later time. There is the opportunity to make a donation in Alan’s honor to an animal care facility located in your region.
