Jocelyn Megee Death, Obituary – Jocelyn Megee, a 22-year-old resident of Fairfield, tragically lost her life in a vehicular accident on Route 16 on Friday, August 9. According to authorities, Megee was driving a 2014 Jeep Cherokee westbound when heavy rain caused her to lose control of the vehicle. The Jeep struck an embankment, flipped onto its side, and skidded into the eastbound lane, where it was struck head-on by a 2020 Volvo tractor-trailer.

The collision occurred at 7:08 p.m. near 3170 Waynesboro Pike, just 2.8 miles from Megee’s home. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The 44-year-old truck driver from Hagerstown, MD, was unharmed in the accident. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, and the vehicles were taken for further inspection. In the wake of the crash, Waynesboro Pike was closed in both directions near the Adams/Franklin County line but reopened around 11 p.m.

The Adams County Coroner’s Office was on site, and Megee’s next of kin have been notified. Jocelyn Megee was known for her deep affection for animals, particularly horses, and was an avid horse rider. During the pandemic, she also raised pigs and more recently had attended dog grooming school, as noted in her social media updates.
