Dolores Sakamoto & Daughter Vivian Luna Missing Person – A neighbor of Chico reported missing Dolores Sakamoto, 84 years old, and her daughter Vivian Luna, 64 years old, on July 21, 2024. Sakamoto, Luna, and their car were placed under a Silver Alert on July 23, 2024, by the California Highway Patrol, following an evaluation of the investigation circumstances.

Detectives, the California Highway Patrol, and the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office have been working together to try and find Sakamoto and Luna for the last three weeks. According to the findings of the inquiry, Sakamoto and Luna were last seen leaving their apartment on July 21, 2024, in a black 1996 Lexus ES 300 with the California license plate number 6KSP061.

For the last three weeks, investigators have relied on data retrieved from automated license plate readers, bank information, and cell phone records. The detectives were able to piece together that Sakamoto and Luna went to Susanville, California on July 21, 2024, thanks to bank data. This information was validated by detectives who found video surveillance.

On July 22, 2024, investigators found cellular phone data that pointed to Luna’s phone having been to the area of Mount Shasta Ski Park. A search was conducted by the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office in the vicinity of Mount Shasta Ski Park on July 23, 2024. A search plane from the California Highway Patrol also flew over the region.

Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office and BCSO have been in touch. More search operations have been launched in the Mount Shasta region by the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office. Sakamoto, Luna, and their vehicle have eluded them thus far. The search is still receiving assistance from BCSO. Detectives from the BCSO are still working hard to solve this mystery.
