A 1995 Jeep Cherokee driven by Andrew Ian McNulty, 64, of the Clintonville neighborhood of Columbus, was traveling north on North High Street approaching the intersection of West Kelso Road just before 7:45 p.m. when he collided with a 2001 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Omobayomije Fasheun, 46, of Orient, Pickaway County, according to the Columbus police department.

McNulty was pronounced dead at the scene. During the collision, Fasheun was thrown from the motorcycle and had “severe injuries,” as stated by the police. After being taken by ambulance to Ohio Health Riverside Methodist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:30 p.m., he was transported by medical personnel.

It was reported by the police that McNulty ran away from the scene of the accident without stopping, but he was taken into custody shortly after. According to the records presented by the Franklin County Municipal court, he is being charged with one count of failing to stop following an accident that resulted in the death of another individual. This is a crime of the third degree.

The court records indicate that McNulty’s arraignment is set to take place on Wednesday at nine o’clock in the morning. The investigation into the collision is being handled by the Accident Investigation Unit of the Columbus Police Department.
