Around 7:30 p.m., Stow police were called to the scene following reports of a shooting in the Taco Bell drive-thru. Upon arrival, officers discovered two people with gunshot wounds. Megan E. Keleman, a 25-year-old resident of Stow, was pronounced dead at the scene, her death ruled a homicide caused by gunshot wounds to the neck. Jason S. Williams, a 53-year-old from Cuyahoga Falls, was also found deceased, with his death ruled a suicide by a gunshot wound to the head.

According to their accounts, Keleman was driving through the Taco Bell drive-thru when Williams, driving behind her, became agitated. Williams reportedly blew his horn and collided with the rear of Keleman’s vehicle. Following this, Keleman sought assistance from Taco Bell employees, requesting that they call the police.

Williams then exited his vehicle, approached Keleman’s car, and shot her before turning the gun on himself. The weapon involved in the incident was identified as a .40-caliber Sig Sauer P229. At present, there is no evidence suggesting that Keleman and Williams had any prior acquaintance or relationship.

Stow Police Chief, Bill Film, stated that the motive behind the incident remains unclear. “This is a true tragedy,” he remarked. “Not only have the Kelemans lost a daughter, but we as a community lost one of our daughters.” Film added that the police have no clear explanation for the actions of Williams, who had no significant prior criminal history, although he had previously been arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence.

The police chief expressed that the case might remain unresolved in terms of understanding why this happened. “It appears the person was in crisis. I don’t think we’ll ever be able to explain the motivation behind his decision-making,” Film said.
