Kristin Little Car Accident, Death, Obituary – A tragic accident unfolded on Friday evening near Prescott when a woman lost her life after her vehicle plunged off a cliff along Thumb Butte Road. The incident occurred around 5 p.m., prompting an immediate response from the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO).
Deputies were alerted to the scene following reports of a vehicle that had careened off the side of a cliff approximately two miles from the intersection with Copper Basin Road. Upon arrival, they discovered the vehicle had descended roughly 1,000 feet down the steep mountainside.
The victim, identified as 39-year-old Kristin Little, was found after deputies hiked down the treacherous terrain. Tragically, Little had been ejected from her vehicle about halfway down the mountainside and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities acted swiftly, utilizing drones and a Department of Public Safety (DPS) Ranger helicopter to search the area for additional victims. However, no other individuals were found.
Given the rugged landscape and the onset of darkness, deputies remained with Little through the night, ensuring the area was secure until her body could be safely recovered on Saturday morning. She was subsequently transported to the medical examiner’s office.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Little was driving north on Thumb Butte Loop Road when she veered left, causing her vehicle to leave the roadway and tumble down the mountainside. The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
This tragic incident serves as a somber reminder of the dangers posed by the challenging and often unforgiving terrain in the Prescott area. The community mourns the loss of Kristin Little, as investigators work to determine the factors that led to this heartbreaking accident.
