Strathmore Road Tragic Incident: Police Identify Woman Struck Dead By Vehicle

Lundy Braun Obituary, Death – According to the Cranston police department, the woman who was struck and killed by a vehicle that was pulling out of a driveway on Friday night has been named as Lundy Braun, who was 77 years old. A woman was reportedly struck by a vehicle in front of the residence located at 41 Strathmore Road at approximately 7:40 p.m., which prompted the initial call to the police department.

According to the police, when the crews arrived at the location, they discovered a woman laying at the end of the driveway, lifeless. The initial responders attempted to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and other lifesaving procedures on Braun before transporting her to Rhode Island Hospital, where she was subsequently pronounced dead.

The driver was identified as a woman who was 25 years old and who remained at the site and cooperated with authorities, according to the police. When the motorist was backing up, she informed the officers that she didn’t realize anyone was behind her until she felt the contact, according to the police.

Following the realization that she had hit someone, the driver told the authorities that she had run to an adjacent house in order to find assistance. The department stated that there were no symptoms of intoxication. Strathmore Road was also Braun’s place of residence. At this point in time, there are no charges being filed, and the inquiry into what caused the crash is still ongoing.
