Caroline Earhart Death, Obituary – Caroline Anne Earhart, a cherished 14-year-old from Columbia, Missouri, tragically passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. Born on January 19, 2010, at Boone Hospital, Caroline was a beacon of joy and warmth to all who knew her. Her sudden departure leaves a profound void in the hearts of her family, friends, and community. From a young age, Caroline demonstrated a vivacious spirit and a passion for life. She began her educational journey at Vanderbilt Learning Center in Naples, Florida, where her radiant personality quickly made her a beloved figure.
Moving to Columbia, she continued to shine academically and socially at Veteran Memorial Elementary School, Beulah Ralph Elementary School, and John Warner Middle School. Caroline’s leadership qualities were evident as she served as captain of the cheer squad in eighth grade. With excitement, she looked forward to her high school years at Father Tolton Catholic High School, where she had joined the varsity cheerleading team and excelled in creative writing, American History, and Spanish.
Caroline’s zest for life extended beyond academics. She was deeply involved in various activities, including dance, soccer, and swimming. Her commitment to cheerleading was unwavering as she worked diligently to perfect her back handspring, reflecting her determination and perfectionism. Caroline’s artistic side flourished through her love of art, crafts, and music, spanning from Lana Del Rey to Taylor Swift. Her vibrant presence was felt during sleepovers, dance parties, and mall outings with friends.
Family was central to Caroline’s life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Whether riding Blazers, biking the Katy Trail with her dog Archie, or tackling the Murph Challenge with her dad and brother, Caroline’s adventurous spirit shone through. Her favorite memories included searching for seashells in Florida, catching a shark, and dreaming of future travels to New York and London.
A devout Catholic, Caroline was baptized at Our Lady of the Lourdes Catholic Church and maintained a strong faith throughout her life. Her daily devotionals and shared scriptures were a testament to her spiritual commitment and the inner light she carried. Caroline’s passing is deeply felt by her parents, Todd and Michelle Earhart; her brother, Luke; her grandparents, G.W. and Judy Dimmitt, and Paula Earhart; her aunts and uncles, Janna Thomason (Jay), Daniel Earhart (Jeanne), and Jake Dimmitt (Maureen); and her cousins, including her soul sister
Aubrey Thomason (David Siegfried). She is also remembered fondly by her beloved dog, Archie. Caroline was preceded in death by her grandfather, Robert Earhart, and several great-grandparents. The community will come together to honor Caroline’s memory with a Prayer Service at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2024, at Our Lady of the Lourdes Catholic Church, followed by a visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at the same church, with the Very Reverend Christopher Cordes officiating. Caroline will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Shelbina, Missouri, with graveside services and interment at 2:00 p.m.
