Afa Anoa’i Obituary, Death – Anoa’i, a member of the WWE Hall of Fame, passed away at the age of eighty. The news that Anoa’i had passed away was first reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer on X, which was then known as Twitter. Meltzer claimed that the Anoa’i family had confirmed the news.
His wife Lynn and their seven children are the ones he leaves behind. It was the night before that news of Anoa’i’s passing circulated, and it was based on a memorial that his son, Samu, posted on social media. Nearly two months have passed since the passing of Sika Anoa’i, Afa’s brother and tag team partner. Afa’s death occurs after Sika’s passing.
After receiving training from Rocky Johnson and Peter Maivia, Afa competed for the first time in 1971 before his first bout. Following that, Afa began working together with his brother Sika. They went on to compete for Stampede Wrestling and a number of NWA areas after forming The Wild Samoans and going on to compete for them.
By the late 1970s, Afa and Sika had joined the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), and Lou Albano was their inaugural manager. Following their victory over Ivan Putski and Tito Santana in April 1980, they were awarded their first World Wrestling Federation Tag Team Championship.
Following their departure from the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) to spend some time in the Mid-South, The Wild Samoans made their comeback in 1983 and swiftly reclaimed the tag gold by winning a two-out-of-three falls match against Chief Jay Strongbow and Jules Strongbow.
The Headshrinkers, Samu, and Rikishi were all under Afa’s management during his third term, which commenced in the year 1992. 1994 was the year that Afa competed in his final match for the World Wrestling Federation, and in 2007, The Wild Samoans were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
In the years since his first retirement, Afa has only worked a few matches, with his most recent match taking place in 2014. It is well acknowledged that Afa and Sika are responsible for the training of notable individuals such as Hulk Hogan, Roman Reigns, and the Usos. To this end, they have established their very own training center.
